About Bria
WNBA Guard for the Phoenix Mercury
Even before Bria Hartley was drafted No. 7 overall by the Seattle Storm in the 2014 Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) Draft, she was a shining star.
Bria was a four-year basketball letter winner at North Babylon High School in North Babylon, New York, and was named the New York Newsday’s Long Island Player of the Year and New York’s Miss Basketball in 2010 by the New York Basketball Coaches Association.
Bria is currently signed with the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA. She is also a starting guard for the French National Team that is qualified for the Tokyo Olympics. Bria has mastered the art of simultaneously playing basketball for two professional basketball teams in two different countries: the WNBA and the French National Basketball Team.
Bria’s torch that paves her way to the Olympics is not an object but her beloved grandmother who was born in Strasbourg, France. It is this bloodline that enables her to play for the French team. Bria’s dream is for her grandmother to see her play for France in the upcoming Olympics.
Bria has dreams for her adorable son, Bryson Noah to grow up in a society free of bigotry. She uses her social media platforms to promote justice and inclusion. It is for Bryson and all children, that Bria will keep fighting to create a better world.
